Georgia State Patrol told CBS Atlanta that 14 people have died so far on Georgia roads this holiday driving season.
As of Wednesday morning, Georgia State Patrol said there were 685 crashes and 300 injuries.
Just hours of the beginning of the holiday travel season, three people died in three separate accidents in north Georgia.
GSP investigators also investigated a fatal accident Friday evening in Barrow County where a head-on crash claimed the life of a Buford, GA, man in Gwinnett County.
Early Saturday morning, troopers investigated a fatal accident in Banks County.
On Christmas Eve, an accident in Smyrna, GA claimed the life of 46-year-old Luca Kosic, of Marietta. Investigators believe weather conditions including extreme dense fog were a contributing factor in this collision.
The Christmas holiday travel period began at 6 p.m. Friday and extends through midnight Tuesday.
