Volunteers worked for much of Christmas Eve day and night to prepare food for up to 10,000 poor and homeless.
By 5 a.m. Christmas Day, many of those people were already lined up outside of the Georgia World Congress Center in anticipation of the 10 a.m. meal.
"I love to come down here. I come early so I can be the first one and have the first pick of everything," said Evelyn Spartan. She said she's been several times in the past and looks forward to picking up fresh clothing along with a good meal.
"Everybody is showing love to each other, so I like it. I love to come down here," Spartan said.
Hosea Feed the Hungry expects to feed around 20,000 people during the 2012 holiday season.
It is the 42nd annual Christmas feast the charitable organization has prepared for the poor and homeless of Atlanta.
