Gwinnett County police arrest 2 wanted in Wells Fargo Bank robbery

Gwinnett County police arrested two men who were on the run after a bank robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank on Lawrenceville Highway.

Police had been searching for Marcus Rutledge and Thomas Birdsong since Dec. 28.

Around 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 28, Birdsong and Rutledge held up the bank at gunpoint, according to reports.

The men got away with over $10,000, but police later recovered the money.

Birdsong and Rutledge abandoned their vehicle and ran into a wooded area near Herrington and Cruse roads.

Another suspect, Jamar Terrell, 26, was arrested after a short chase.

Birdsong turned himself in to police after seeing the incident on TV.

Terrell, Birdsong, and Rutledge have been charged with armed robbery.
