Jewels of Titanic on display in Midtown

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

If you like rare jewelry, you don't have much longer to see one of the most unique exhibits in Atlanta.

It's part of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition. The jewels of the Titanic will only be on display in Midtown for another week.

Workers with the exhibit are the only ones in the world allowed to dive down and recover pieces of the wreckage.

Despite being underwater, the pieces in the exhibition remained intact. Theresa Nelson, who works with the exhibition, said, "Whenever we find a leather suitcase, trunk, wallet, satchel and bring it to the surface it's like a virtual time capsule back to 1912 with its contents inside remarkably well preserved."

The full exhibit is open seven days a week in Atlantic Station. The jewelry exhibition will be there until next weekend.
