Posted: Updated:

Marietta police are searching for a man who robbed the Motel 6 on Delk Road on Thursday morning.

Police said the man told the desk clerk he had a gun and demanded money from the register. After complying, the clerk sprinted out a back door of the building. The man gave chase, but she was able to escape unharmed.

The suspect is about 6'0 and 180 pounds. He has low cut hair and was wearing rimmed prescription glasses.

Officer David Baldwin of the Marietta Police Departments says although the suspect did not show a firearm, he should be considered potentially armed and dangerous.

The Marietta Police Department is asking anyone who knows his identity or his whereabouts to call 911 or the Marietta Police Anonymous Tip Line at 770-794-6990.
