Friends and family of Jared Billings held a vigil for him on Saturday, Jan. 5.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner confirmed the 19-year-old was the first person murdered in Fulton County in 2013.

The shooting happened at about 9:15 a.m. outside a home in the 1300 block of Epworth Street in southwest Atlanta.

Witnesses said that a man got into an argument with another male, who then shot him in the chest, according to Officer Kim Jones with the Atlanta Police Department.

The injured man was then taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died, Jones said.
