Last year was the warmest year on record in Atlanta based on the average yearly temperature.

The overall average temperature for Atlanta was 65.6 degrees in 2012, which was three degrees above the average yearly temperature of 62.6 degrees.

The previous warmest year on record in Atlanta came in 1990 with an average yearly temperature of 65 degrees.
