Passion Conference draws tens of thousands

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

The Georgia Dome is packed with nearly 60,000 people cheering on their favorite Christian rock bands and listening to a message of love and peace through Jesus Christ.

"It's like a revival," Glory Anderson. "I have heard so many things about it, I just want to worship. So many people are here, and gathered together, and definitely Jesus' presence is everywhere."

The Passion Conference is also collecting towels and socks for the homeless. Last year, they distributed them to shelters in Atlanta. This year the conference has grown so much they plan to hit other cities in the Southeast.

"Just to know that we are able to make a difference and knowing that what we are doing is making a difference in people's lives is amazing," Christian Diaz said.

Diaz traveled from Puerto Rico to Atlanta to attend the conference.

The money collected from admission will also be used to help the fight against sex trafficking in the United States.

The conference ends Jan. 4.
