MARTA reduces rail service this weekend

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA (CBS46) -

If you plan on taking MARTA this weekend, allow extra time.

MARTA is modifying its rail service Saturday and Sunday in order to complete scheduled work on its track.

MARTA posted the following statement on its website:

"Red Line trains will only operate between North Springs and Lindbergh; therefore, service between Lindbergh and Airport Stations will be running at a reduced frequency – every 20 minutes.  Customers traveling from North Springs will need to transfer to a Gold Line train at Lindbergh Station in order to continue southbound.  Customers traveling northbound from the Airport will need to board a Gold Line train and transfer to a Red Line train at Lindbergh Station to continue to North Springs Station.

At Lindbergh Station, all trains will board on the southbound platform.

On Saturday and Sunday, there will be no daytime single tracking on the Blue and Green Lines."
