ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A man is listed in serious condition at Grady Memorial Hospital after being shot in southwest Atlanta.

The shooting happened at about 2:40 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Mellview Avenue.

The victim is approximately 50 years old. He was shot in the neck, according to Atlanta police.

Investigators say that preliminary findings indicate that the victim was walking with two other men when one of them pulled a gun and shot the victim once.

The suspects then ran to a dark colored SUV and drove off. Investigators say the SUV is possibly a Chevrolet Suburban with dark rims. It was last seen traveling south on Metropolitan Parkway.

The suspects were described as men in their late teens to early twenties. Both have dark complexion with one wearing a blue sweatshirt and blue jeans. The other was wearing a white hoodie and blue jeans.

At this time no arrests have been made, and the investigation continues.
