Police search for driver who struck pedestrian, fled scene

FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Fulton County police are searching for a driver who struck a woman and left the scene early Monday.

Officers responded to the 5300 block of Old National Highway, south of Jolly Road on a report of a pedestrian struck just after midnight Monday.

Investigators determined that the middle-aged woman was attempting to cross Old National from the west side of the road to the east side when she was hit by a passenger car headed south.

The woman was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in serious but stable condition, police said.

Witnesses said the vehicle may have been a silver or dark gray Honda.
