FAYETTEVILLE, GA (CBS46) -

A Cobb County man accused in the death of his ex-wife has been charged in an armed robbery that happened at a pharmacy in Fayetteville.

The armed robbery happened on Dec. 26 at the Rite Aid at 800 N. Glynn St.

That's where police said John Steven Kristofak gave a note to a pharmacy employee saying he had a gun and wanted Adderall.

Kristofak then left the store and drove off with the prescription drugs in a pickup truck, according to police.

The next day, police located Kristofak in a Union City motel room and arrested him for a different crime - the death of his ex-wife, according to Cobb County police.

Police said John Kristofak attacked his ex-wife, Donna Nations Kristofak, 48, in her home on Tall Pine Drive near Marietta on Dec. 22 and then took off.

Police in Cobb County were able to help identify John Kristofak as the Rite Aid robber based on evidence that was found during the Union City arrest, according to Fayetteville police.

John Kristofak was already in the Cobb County Jail when he was charged with robbery by intimidation for the Rite Aid incident.
