Two remaining suspects in Bobby Tillman beating death face jury

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

The trial for Quantez Mallory and Horace Coleman is under way in Douglas County. They are the last of four defendants accused of the Nov. 2010 beating death of Bobby Tillman, 18. Both men entered not guilty pleas.

Tillman's mother, Monique Rivarde, left the courtroom in tears when the prosecutor showed jurors police dashcam video of paramedics tending to her son and then putting him in the back of an ambulance.

"I'm just ready for all this to be over. My family and I are looking forward to closure," said Rivarde with tears in her eyes.

Tillman was killed outside a house party in Douglasville. Witnesses said Emanuel Boykins, Tracen Franklin, Coleman and Mallory randomly targeted the much smaller Tillman, punching, kicking and stomping him, causing a tear in his heart.

Last September, a judge sentenced Franklin to life in prison without the possibility of parole. A hung jury could not decide whether to sentence Franklin to death or life in prison. Boykins pleaded guilty last spring to avoid a possible death sentence. He is serving a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 30 years.

Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty in Coleman and Mallory's case.
