Team of masked bandits hit local shopping strip in Braselton

Suspects armed with a crowbar managed to break into three businesses in the shopping center at 4982 Highway 53 in Braselton.

Assistant police chief Lou Solis with the Braselton Police Department told CBS Atlanta News the suspects were determined to get inside the businesses early Monday morning.

"They were on a mission. The mission was to open that register and get as much as they could," said Solis. "They had two crowbars and used them to pry open the back doors."

Solis said the telephone and cable lines to the building were cut.

Police released surveillance video showing three masked suspects ripping into the cash registers at Corleone's Pizzeria.

Investigators believe the crooks got away with a few hundred dollars in cash.

But before getting inside the shops they did plenty of damage outside, cutting telephone and cable lines.

Investigators said that allowed them the freedom to go from shop to shop.

CBS Atlanta News spoke with Tina Slaton. Her consignment shop was one of the three businesses hit.

"Just looking at the video, this is not their first rodeo. They knew what they were doing. They got in, and they took their time," said Slaton

The clothes taken from her shop were ditched in a field behind the shopping strip.

"It's just frustrating, you know, to have to get out of bed, [because] your business was broken into. It's the same thing, just like your house. You just feel violated," said Slaton.

Investigators said the suspects also left behind blood on the wires they cut.

"They're no secret. We collected the blood samples and DNA. We'll send that to the GBI and crime lab and wait for results," said Solis.

Police believe one of the suspects in the video may be a woman.

They're also looking for a fourth suspect who drove the getaway car.

The car is described a silver or gray Pontiac Grand Am.
