According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 36 million people relocated in 2012.
Many people stayed within the same county, and plenty of them just moved to a different state.
For the third year in a row, Atlanta ranked at the top of the list of places to move to.
Following behind was Dallas-Fort Worth, Phoenix and Orlando.
Data from Penske Truck Rental, showed that warmer climates were the biggest impetus to move last year.
"As this list indicates, U.S. residents continue migrating primarily toward warm weather areas," noted Don Mikes, Penske's vice president of rental. "The list is compiled through online consumer truck rental reservations and through our call centers."
