The DeKalb County School Board will meet on Monday and is expected to select a new board chairman.
The board failed to get enough votes to elect a board chairman last Friday.
The district is on probation by its accrediting agency, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The agency said its investigation found a lack of leadership, an abuse of power by the board and gross financial mismanagement.
The Georgia Board of Education recently held a hearing and agreed not to suspend board members as they move forward and try to iron out problems in the district.
During the state hearing, board members testified they would set aside their differences and work together to make positive changes in the district.
