CBS Atlanta News' Adam Murphy has teamed up with the Atlanta Hawks to host a charity fundraiser night at Philips Arena next month. The event will help raise money and awareness for a rare brain disease called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, also known as PSP. Adam's mom, Janice, was diagnosed with it two years ago and is currently battling the horrible effects of the disease.

PSP is a neurodegenerative brain disease that has no known cause, treatment or cure. It affects nerve cells that control walking, balance, mobility, vision, speech and swallowing.

"I hope you will join me Friday, March 15 when the Atlanta Hawks host the Phoenix Suns at the Highlight Factory. With your support, the highlight of the night will be that we are one step closer to finding a cure for my mom and anyone else that has to live with PSP," Murphy said.

Murphy launched his own non-profit foundation this year called Miracle for Mom to support the cause. If you'd like to watch the Hawks in action and support Murphy's mission to find a cure for PSP, purchase your tickets by going to 100 percent of the profit from those ticket sales will go to Cure PSP.
