2 arrests made in string of pedestrian robberies

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Atlanta police are investigating five pedestrian robberies that occurred throughout the city within a span of a few hours early Thursday morning.

The incidents happened along Avon Avenue SW at Princess Avenue, Metropolitan Parkway SW at Pegg Road, 1544 Piedmont Avenue NE.

Two more happened at 1280 West Peachtree Street NE and on 10th Street NE at Argonne Street.

The robberies happened between 3:30 and 5 a.m.

Officers made two arrests and charged one suspect with five counts of armed robbery, five counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and five counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Victims provided statements to help investigators track stolen property.
