Rockdale County investigators said a 6-year-old boy was killed in a crash at the intersection of Zingara Road and West Hightower Trail.
The accident happened between a Ford Explorer and Mercury Villager at about 4:40 p.m.
Deputies said the Villager was traveling on Zingara Road and stopped at the intersection, then pulled onto West Hightower Trail and into the path of the Explorer. They said the Explorer was unable to avoid the crash.
A 52-year-old man was driving the Villager with his 28-year-old daughter and 6-year-old grandson as passengers.
A 16-year-old was driving the Explorer with his 74-year-old grandmother as a passenger.
Deputies said the 6-year-old died at the scene and everyone was else was taken to area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said it appears the 52-year-old man is at fault and may face charges.
Police have not released the names of anyone involved.
