ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Firefighters with the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department pulled a dog from a 40-foot-deep well in southwest Atlanta.

Firefighters were called out to a home on Boulder Park Drive on Thursday afternoon.

There was a well nearby in which the dog was reportedly trapped.

CBS Atlanta News' Sky Eye flew over the scene as firefighters rigged a contraption to rescue the dog.

They were able to pull it out safely, and the dog was not even injured, according to AFRD spokeswoman Marian McDaniel.

It was unclear how the dog ended up in the well.
