HALL COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

A Great Pyrenees dog was saved by a good Samaritan after being shot with an arrow in Hall County.

According to officials with the Hall County Animal Shelter, Will Peters spotted the dog near the intersection of Athens Highway and Lenox Road on Feb. 1.

Peters noticed she was in desperate need of medical care so he brought her to the Hall County Animal Shelter.

Dr. Meghan Seabolt discovered she had been pierced with an arrow. She was able to perform surgery on the dog who has been named Florence.

The surgery was a success and Florence is set to go home and Peters decided to adopt her after the ordeal.

Hall County Animal Control is asking residents who may have information to come forward.
