DULUTH, GA (CBS46) -

Gwinnett County Police are trying a new tactic to help them solve a murder case.

They put up a billboard on Pleasant Hill Road near I-85. It touts a $25,000 reward for information of the murder of a 24-year old woman in September.

Monique Marlowe was working at Hertz Rent-A-Car off of Satellite Boulevard in Duluth. It was the early evening on a Friday in September. Officers said she was in back cleaning a car when a man ran up and shot her in the stomach. They believe the motive was robbery. Marlowe's parents said a necklace with a silver Mickey Mouse charm was missing.

Before she died, officer said she told them her attacker was a young man wearing a light blue shirt.

Officers have had little to go on and need possible witnesses to come forward to give them a lead. They put up the billboard for two months to encourage someone to call.

"Hopefully, the right person will see it and knows something and will be compelled to talk," Dan Marlowe said.

The couple has kept Monique's room much the same. Her sports, music and academic accolades still line the room. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in international business. Her parents said she took the job at Hertz as she went after her goal of traveling the world. The Marlowes said their goal is making sure the man who killed their only child is caught.

"She cannot rest in peace, and we can't either," Maria Marlowe said.

Hertz announced they were providing the $25,000 reward in the fall. Gwinnett County Police said the billboard will be up for two months.
