DUNWOODY, GA (CBS46) -

Dunwoody police said they arrested a suspected drunk driver for a hit-and-run crash on Sunday.

At about 2:15 a.m., police said a call came in for a stranded motorist on I-285 West near Chamblee Dunwoody Road. The call was then changed to an accident with injuries.

Police said a Mercury Grand Marquis was disabled and a man driving a Chevrolet Tahoe hit it. Francisco Rodriguez-Vazquez, 26, was driving the Chevrolet and fled the scene on foot, but was caught, according to police.

Evelyn Ngoboworigha, 57, who was behind the wheel of the Mercury, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Stroyer Butler, 25, who was the passenger, was also taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers said Rodriguez-Vazquez was under the influence of alcohol and driving without a license. Charges against him are pending.
