The DeKalb County school board met Monday to discuss a debt reduction plan and to discuss new developments in an ongoing effort by detractors to have six board members removed from office.
Board members planned to adjourn and go into executive session so that the public could be excluded from talks regarding legal matters.
Gov. Nathan Deal said Monday morning that he will announce in a 2:30 p.m. news conference whether he will suspend six of nine of DeKalb County's school board members, as the state school board recommended last week.
Over the weekend, CBS Atlanta News learned that a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order which essentially says that if the governor decides to replace board members, the replacements cannot take office until after a hearing in federal court Friday.
