More than 500 students in southeast Atlanta will have a new place to have fun and make friends.
Verint Systems and the nonprofit KaBOOM! are building a new playground at Ivy Preparatory Academies at Kirkwood.
The new playground will be based on the students' designs and drawings, and will have a play space with giant Tinker Toys children can maneuver and change to design their own environment.
"Today there's not a lot of opportunity to spend outside. Obviously there's a lot of distraction inside with video games and everything, so here's an opportunity to give kids a place to go outside and encourage them to play outside," said Nancy Treaster, SVP at Verint Systems.
Verint and its employees are providing nearly $100,000 toward the project.
