A billboard that advertised a dentist's office in Norcross was removed Friday morning after it was upsetting some children at a daycare center located nearby.

Some children at the Legacy Academy at Berkeley Lake were so traumatized by the billboard, which showed a before-and-after close-up photo of a person in need of dental work, that they wouldn't go outside to play.

On Thursday, CBS Atlanta News' Adam Murphy contacted both the dentist's office, Georgia Prosthodontics, and the billboard company, and a decision was made to switch out the image on the billboard.

While the billboard company said the image would be swapped out within five days, the change came within 24 hours.

Charon Simmons, who works at Legacy Academy at Berkeley Lake, said she was very happy about the change.

"We are really happy," Simmons said. "The parents came in this morning and they were like, 'Thank you!' and the kids are like, 'The teeth are gone!' and we were like, 'Yes, the teeth are gone.'"

Employees at the daycare said they had been trying to get the billboard removed since late January.

A lawyer for the dentist at Georgia Prosthodontics said his client was unaware of the issue, and would work quickly to get the image removed.
