Police arrested two people in connection with an arson fire at a home in Dawson County. The fire happened April 26, 2012.
Thirty-one-year old James Henry Rains is accused of setting fire to a home he was renting at 357 Diane Circle in Dawsonville. Police say his wife, 31-year-old Gloria Ann Rains, helped cover it up. The Rains were in the process of being evicted from the home when the fire occurred.
Police arrested Mr. Rains Thursday and charged him with first-degree arson and a probation violation. Mrs. Rains is charged with making false statements, concealing facts and probation violation.
Both are currently being held in the Dawson County Detention Center.
Police are now looking for a third person in connection with the fire. A warrant has been issued for 45-year old William P. Thurmond of Dawson County. Thurmond will be charged with first-degree arson, making false statements, and concealment of facts.
