Man wanted in DeKalb County triple homicide arrested in Virginia

DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

U.S. Marshal Bobby Mathieson announced the capture of a 32-year-old wanted in a triple homicide which, occurred in DeKalb County.

Brian Levern Gupton's car was spotted in the 600 block of London Boulevard in Portsmouth, VA on March 7.

Officers said they attempted a traffic stop on the car and Gupton fled.

He was eventually found hiding under a vehicle and was arrested, according to police.

Gupton is now awaiting extradition back to Georgia.

DeKalb police said in November 2012, Gupton became upset about theft of money from "a bad drug deal" and confronted the three people whom he suspected had stolen from him.

In the midst of the confrontation, Gupton allegedly shot two men and one woman to death in the parking lot of the Crystal Pointe Apartments in DeKalb County.
