FSU prospects compete at pro day, Reid returns

They ran. They shuffled. They lifted.

All under the watchful eye on NFL scouts and coaches.

"This whole process has been like a dream come true," says Seminole DT and former TCC Yellow Jacket Anthony McCloud. "Just the chance to come out here and compete."

Florida State held its annual pro day Tuesday, giving players the chance to show off their talents to those coaches who could choose them in April's NFL Draft.

For each and every one of these players, it's one of the most important job interviews they'll ever have.

"It's a multi-million dollar interview man," laughs Seminole DB Xavier Rhodes. "You could be a millionaire real soon."

Coaches and scouts watched potential first rounders like Rhodes and DE Bjoern Werner as well as former Thomas County Central standouts McCount and RB Debrale Smiley.

It wasn't just a big day for current Seminoles, but former ones as well.

Former Lowdnes Viking Greg Reid returned to Doak Campbell for Pro Day.

Reid was dismissed from the team before his senior season due to conduct. He enrolled at Valdosta State, but missed the season after tearing his ACL.

He wanted to prove to scouts  his torn ACL has healed, but also that he's moved past the issues that got him dismissed from this team last year.

"It's been a long trip man, All the ups and downs, downs, downs, downs" Reid says. "But just being out here for the opportunity to show my talents to some of these scouts and coaches."

Each player's hope is that Tuesday's performance, as well as their college careers, will help them suit up on Sundays.

The NFL Draft is April 25-27.
