ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The president of the Arthur Blank Family Foundation will take questions Wednesday night from people who live in the neighborhoods surrounding the future stadium that will be the new home of the Atlanta Falcons.
Penny McPhee will be the special guest of a meeting held by the Northwest Community Alliance, a coalition of northwest Atlanta neighborhoods, developers and businesses. McPhee is expected to address how the new stadium will benefit residents of the Vine City and English Avenue communities.
The Arthur Blank Family Foundation has committed $15 million toward community development around the stadium, which will be built near the Georgia Dome.
The city's economic development arm, Invest Atlanta, delayed a vote Tuesday on whether to issue bonds backed by the city's hotel-motel tax to pay for 20 percent of the construction costs for the new $1 billion dollar stadium. The Atlanta Falcons will foot the rest of the bill.
The Northwest Community Alliance meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Senior Citizens Center of Metropolitan Atlanta, 1705 Commerce Drive, Atlanta, Ga., 30318.
