ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Monday morning was a day Scott King said he will never forget.

"It was the scariest moment of my life," King said.

King is the owner of a Scott King Circuit Fitness in northwest Atlanta.

"I came in around 4:30 a.m. to do some chores. I walk back outside to take the trash out and two individuals were coming along the side of the building. As I opened the door, I saw them, they were wearing bandanas and hooded sweatshirts," King said.

He said the bandits had guns, ordered him to the ground and demanded his keys.

"I determined that whatever chance I was going to take, I was going to risk my life. I was going to jump up off the ground and make a dash for it. As I jumped up, I put my arm up and as I put my arm up, he shot me in the wrist. I fell, stumbled to the ground backwards and tumbled a few times. He shot again and missed. I then jumped up and ran down the ally in a zigzag pattern. I was just saying to myself I have to keep moving or I am a dead man," King said.

King said the gunmen shot and missed one more time before King was able to get to the McDonald's across the street. Someone there called for help.

"The bullet came in the side of my wrist and went out the other side. It didn't hit an artery and didn't hit bone," King said.

He said surveillance video from McDonald's shows the robber's car was in the McDonalds parking before he got to work.

King said he recognized the car.

"I have seen the car behind the building before this past week, so they were in prey waiting for me," said King.

No arrests have been made. Despite his injuries, King said he's blessed.

"It could have been a lot worse," King said.

King said he plans to install security cameras and flood lights outside his business and he plans to buy a gun.
