ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Atlanta police are working to find out who kidnapped a Buckhead man from the driveway of his house around midnight Thursday.

The victim said he was held up at gunpoint in front of his house, at the corner of Karland Drive and Habersham Road.

According to police, the suspects came inside to steal the items they were looking for, and then took the victim to a nearby ATM where he was forced to pull out cash.

The victim said he had a gun to his head for two hours as the suspects drove him around southwest Atlanta.

The victim was picked up by police and safely returned to his house in Buckhead after the suspects let him out of the car in southwest Atlanta, near the West End Mall.

This exact same crime happened last week to two other Buckhead residents.

Neighbors fear this is a pattern and the gunmen are targeting residents in Atlanta's northern suburb.

"We've had petty crime," said concerned neighbor Jim Valentine, who lives right next door to the victim. "But nothing of a violent nature,"

According to Zone 2 Commander Major Van Hobbs, APD is stepping up patrols, partnering with Georgia State Patrol, and utilizing special details to catches these criminals.

"We are looking at each case collectively and individually to see if there is anything we can put together," Van Hobbs said.

Atlanta police admit there are similarities but aren't ready to say the crimes are being committed by the same people.
