CBS Atlanta gets action for future bride's issue with David's Bridal

Your wedding day is a day you will always remember, but the planning process has been anything but perfect for one metro Atlanta bride-to-be.

Alicia Rappaport fell in love with a wedding dress that she purchased at David's Bridal in Morrow. She and her fiancé Matt are getting married in September.

"It's the perfect dress. You cry when you put it on," Rappaport said.

She initially bought a different dress, but had a change of heart. As a result, the store allowed her to exchange for the one she now has and gave her a store credit for $331.70.

"I was trying to use the store credit for a veil and maybe some shoes and they were like this is the wrong receipt. You can't use it because it's the wrong barcode," Rappaport said.

Rappaport said the manager told her that she would need a credit receipt, not a return receipt. Something she said they never gave her. So CBS Atlanta's Adam Murphy asked Rappaport how much the store credit means to a future bride.

"A lot, that's a lot of money that I'm going to have to spend on a veil or shoes that I would have spent on a wedding cake," Rappaport said.

"Well it's difficult because I don't want her crying over her wedding. Wedding's are happy. It's a good thing being with someone she truly loves and it shouldn't make her cry," Mother of the bride Kristi Rappaport said.

CBS Atlanta News went to David's Bridal in Morrow on Friday to get to the bottom of the issue.

The manager called Morrow police and then the corporate office for David's Bridal resolved the issue and apologized for any inconvenience.

"We would not have gotten this resolved if you had not helped. They gave us a store credit for the amount that they issued on the original receipt and we have an appointment Monday to come in and do our veils and shoes and we'll be good to go," Kristi Rappaport said.
