Gwinnett police arrest man in Snellville homicide

SNELLVILLE, GA (CBS46) -

Gwinnett police arrested a 24-year-old in connection to a fatal stabbing that occurred Saturday at a home on Hurndon Road in Snellville. 

According to authorities, the homeowner arrived to find Brent Francis, 28, suffering from multiple stab wounds.  

Francis was able to tell officers that his roommate Stephen O'Reilly, 24, had attacked him. 

Francis was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Police said after the stabbing, O'Reilly fled the scene in Francis' car. 

On April 1, O'Reilly turned himself in to officers in Escambia County, FL.

O'Reilly is currently awaiting extradition and transport back to Gwinnett County.

The motive in this case is still under investigation.
