COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

A Cobb County grand jury has indicted a 30-year-old man from Austell on charges of beating his 8-week-old son.

Joseph Rucker McFall was charged on March 28 with two counts of first-degree child cruelty and two counts of aggravated battery.

Investigators said that McFall shook, hit and threw his son between Aug. 30, 2012 and Oct. 29, 2012.

The baby boy was left with multiple broken bones, and a serious brain injury that most likely left him blind.

McFall was granted a $25,000 bond, but is still in the Cobb County Jail.

He could face up to 80 years in prison if convicted.
