A man who coaches and teaches at a private middle school in Cobb County has been arrested and charged with molesting a student.

Robert Carlysle Cartwright Jr., 46, was arrested on March 27 at Midway Covenant Christian School in Powder Springs and charged with aggravated child molestation.

According to investigators, detectives with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children began investigating Cartwright after a boy came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct.

Detectives said that the incident occurred between Cartwright and the boy at Cartwright's home in Douglasville last November, and that Cartwright coached the boy on several sports teams at Midway Covenant Christian School.

Cartwright was taken to the Paulding County Detention Center where he's being held without bond.
