Kevin Ware will be back home on Monday night, and his family is excited.

"I am an emotional wreck and I know I am going to cry and just want to kiss on him and hug on him," said Brittney Ware, Kevin Ware's sister.

Kevin Ware is Brittney Ware's little brother. The two are very close, which is why she said it was so emotional watching Kevin Ware talk about his injury on national television.

"I am very protective of my siblings and I just look at him as if he is my own child and it is was so hard seeing him on television like that," said Brittney Ware.

Monday was the first time Kevin Ware has talked about the moments following the devastating injury.

"I am just thinking like my ankle is hurt or something like that and I looked down at my leg and my bone is sticking six inches outside my leg and I just go into automatic shock," said Kevin Ware.

Kevin Ware said he is feeling better now and has given his teammates their marching orders.

"We still have a job to do. I feel like we got two more games to win and that is most important. right now I'll recover, but we still got to win the championship," said Kevin Ware.

The Ware family says they're overwhelmed by the outpouring of concern and compassion displayed by total strangers. Brittney Ware said it's medicine her brother can use.

"It's great. I love that everybody is reaching out to him and stuff, it is sad that it has to be because of his leg being broken because he has been an incredible player for a long time. But I am glad that he is getting the recognition and people are reaching out because it is making him stronger," said Brittney Ware.
