The evacuation placed on six businesses in Duluth has been lifted after a gas leak was sealed Monday afternoon.
The leak happened around 11:15 a.m. near a strip mall and the Duluth Package Store in the 2800 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard Northwest. A construction crew was working in the area and hit a two-inch gas line.
As a precaution, Gwinnett County firefighters diverted traffic away from the area and the businesses were evacuated.
However, a crew with Atlanta Gas Light was able to cap the leak shortly after 1:15 p.m. and the evacuation was lifted.
No injuries were reported.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard reopened once the leak was capped.
