ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Law enforcement officials from multiple agencies in Georgia teamed up Wednesday to target nearly 100 people involved in distributing child pornography over the internet.

It's the largest operation of its kind in the state.

"We're serving search warrants against 98 suspects in 37 counties and currently we have 50 arrest teams, search teams that are active and executing the search warrants," Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Vernon Keenan said.

Investigators found a dozen people and eight computers inside a Norcross home on Zachary Drive. The GBI confirmed child porn was found on at least one computer.

"We're talking about photographic images and videos of children being raped and sexually abused and the people that we're pursuing have large amounts of child pornography that they are possessing, they are trading, they are selling, they're distributing and we will track them down," Keenan said.

The GBI said the child porn industry is a growing trend that law enforcement is trying to crack down on. In this case, they've already made multiple arrests as a result of a three-month investigation known as Operation Guarding Innocence.

"They'll call in here to the command post and provide us information about what type of evidence was found on scene and whether or not an arrest was made," Sandra Putnam with the GBI said.
