ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Jury selection continues in a trial for a former Georgia State Trooper accused of causing a deadly crash involving the wife of Braves trainer Jeff Porter.

Trooper First Class Donald Crozier was indicted in February in connection with the Dec. 31, 2011, death of Kathy Porter.

Crozier pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle and reckless driving.

On Dec. 31, Crozier was on his way to a call when he struck the Porters' 2006 Ford Expedition, driven by Jeff Porter, at the intersection of Capitol Avenue and Memorial Drive.

On Monday, Crozier's defense team contested count three of the indictment, "violation of oath of office."

His team wanted the charge dropped before accepting any possible plea.

The district attorney refused to drop the charge.
