Dog and owner rescued from Ohio house fire

Firefighters pulled a man from a house fire in Dayton, OH, only to later spot a dog in the window of the charred home.

Flames quickly took over the home as firefighters worked to rescue the man trapped on the second floor.

Firefighters pulled the man from the burning house, carried him through the front door and placed him on a stretcher.

Paramedics took the man to the hospital. He is in critical but stable condition in a burn unit.

Firefighters were putting out the remaining flames when they spotted a dog sitting in the second-story window.

The dog was wet and scared. It barked to get the attention of firefighters.

One of the firefighters grabbed a ladder and made his way up to the frightened animal. In one move, the firefighter grabbed the dog.

Neighbors clapped as he carried it to safety.
