Strong to severe storms move through metro Atlanta

Strong to severe storms moved through metro Atlanta Sunday afternoon.

These storms brought hail the size of golf balls in Covington.

There were also reports of trees down in Moreland in Coweta county.

A record rainfall of 1.59 inches was set in Atlanta today. The old record was 1.23 inches set in 1990.

The storms were associated with a cold front that will move through the area and bring drier air and clearing on Monday.

At last check more than 1400 power outages were reported around the state.
