Storms bring down trees across metro Atlanta

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Heavy rain across the Atlanta area helped bring several trees down in neighborhoods across the metro region. At least four large trees fell across roads from late Sunday night through early Monday morning.

One tree in southeast Atlanta, on Forrest Park Road, fell across the street, but missed taking any power lines with it. Another tree that fell across Connally Drive in East Point narrowly missed hitting a home, but did knock down power lines.

Residents in the area said power had been restored by Monday morning, though two of the trees were still blocking roads. As of early Monday morning, crews still had not begun cleanup work.
