Wells Fargo bank robbed in Carrollton

CARROLLTON, GA (CBS46) -

Police are investigating a robbery that happened at the Wells Fargo on Bankhead Highway in Carrollton.

According to reports, two to three suspects entered the bank and demanded money.

One man fired a shot into the ceiling of the bank before jumping over the counter and taking an unknown amount of cash.

CBS Atlanta News talked exclusively to customer Nick Culver, who was inside the bank. He said he was walking toward the door to leave moments before he heard the shot fired.

"I heard a gunshot feet behind me. I heard, 'Get down on the ground,'" said Culver. "I saw some people running from the bank in sheer terror, people crying."

Culver described the ordeal as sheer terror.

"I just kept thinking over and over, you know, don't shoot me," said Culver.

The getaway vehicle was found abandoned on Lake Point Drive in Carrollton.

The suspect that fired the shot is described as wearing a black hoodie that said, "I am Trayvon Martin," dark jeans and a Florida Marlins ball cap.

The second suspect is described as wearing dark jeans, white shoes and a black hoodie or sweatshirt.

The bank is offering a $5,000 reward for the capture and conviction of the suspects.
