Morehouse students accused of rape are released on bond

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Four Morehouse student charged with rape were released on bond Thursday.

CBS Atlanta talked to lawyers for three of the students. They say their clients are innocent.

Malcolm Frank and Lucien Kidd are both charged with raping women in separate  incidents.

Keith Adams represents both men.

He said his clients did nothing wrong.

"There is no clearer way to say it. They are absolutely innocent," Adams said.

Frank plays for the men's basketball team.

Frank along with two other teammates, Chukwudi Ndudikwa and Tevin Mgbo, allegedly raped a Spelman College student while she was under the influence of a form of the drug ecstasy last March, police said.

Adams said neither Frank nor Kidd had sexual contact with their accusers either by consent or by force.

"Absolutely not," Adams said.

CBS Atlanta obtained witness statements that indicated the victim was "drunk and possibly drugged."

Some witnesses also said that the victim had sex with at least two different men the night of the alleged attacks, but there were "no sounds of struggle or rejection during both acts," according to a statement from one witness.

In a separate case later that same month, Kidd, a former football player, is accused of pinning a woman down and raping her while she shouted "no."

"The allegations are false," Adams said.

Jackie Patterson, who represents Ndudikwa, defended his client as well.

"My client is a very outstanding citizen, he's a great athlete, he's shocked, he's devastated," Patterson said.
