Police in North Carolina have arrested a man who they believe shot the mother of his child in Sandy Springs on March 24 and then fled in her car.

Matthew Terry, wanted in the shooting of his ex-girlfriend, Shawn Crew, 38, was arrested on May 2.

He was taken into custody by the US Marshal's Service at the Cypress Grove Apartments in Wilmington, NC.

The US Marshal's Task Force received a tip on Terry's whereabouts and, with the assistance of the Wilmington police, he was taken into custody after briefly attempting to elude officers and agents.

Although shot multiple times, Crew survived and is recovering.

Terry is in jail and awaiting extradition to Georgia.
