Cartersville police have arrested a man in connection with a Dec. 16, 2012 homicide.

Police arrested Brettney Anwarr Moore, 26, of Cartersville, and charged him with murder and armed robbery in the death of Randall "RJ" Statler, 28.

Statler was washing his car at the Sun-Glo Car Wash off Martin Luther King Jr. Drive when he was shot once in the back of the head.

"Our investigators and officers have been vigilant on this case following every possible lead no matter how large or small. Persistence and hard work have paid off. The citizens of Cartersville can be very proud of these officers and their efforts to bring this tragic situation closer to a resolution," said Cartersville Police Chief Thomas N. Culpepper. "On behalf of the Cartersville Police Department, I continue to offer our sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Statler."

Police are still searching for a second suspect. No information has been released on that individual.
