A weather system will sweep across the southeast and bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to Atlanta during Mother's Day weekend.
As the system moves closer to north Georgia, isolated storms will be possible Friday afternoon, although much of Metro Atlanta should remain dry. The coverage of showers and thunderstorms should pick up on Saturday along the front with the best chance of rain Saturday afternoon.
No severe weather or flooding is expected, however, isolated storms will be possible with lightning and small, non-severe hail.
The rain should move out Saturday night with clearing skies for Mother's Day.
