A man was arrested and charged after police said he called in a bomb threat to North Point Mall in Alpharetta on Friday.

Omari Glenn Riden, 28, was charged with making terroristic threats, making false alarm, and filing a false 911 report.

The mall was evacuated around 9:30 a.m. while police searched for the bomb.

An hour later, police said Riden called back to the 911 center and inquired about the progress of the evacuation.

Alpharetta detectives were able to quickly locate and identify Riden as the person responsible.

Police said during the interview with the detectives, Riden began to cry and confessed to calling in the hoax bomb threat.

The mall reopened at 2 p.m. No device was located.
