Southeast Atlanta charter school finds new home

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Atlanta Public Schools will allow a charter school to use one of their empty buildings.

The district reached a deal Saturday with Wesley International Academy.

Beginning next fall, students and staff at Wesley will use the empty Cook Elementary building on Memorial Drive in southeast Atlanta.

APS says the agreement is temporary and Wesley will use the building for free.

Wesley says the agreement will allow them to direct monies previously used for rent toward students, faculty and staff.

Wesley has not released a start date for classes next fall.
